You love smoothies and are looking for one that is super healthy and, at the same time, super tasty? This green vitamin bomb has got what you’re looking for: lettuce, cucumber, kiwi and melon – it tastes great and has a real kick of freshness. It’s a great way to start your day!
Recipe:
Shopping List for approx. 1 Liter of Melon-Lettuce Smoothie
1 head of lettuce
1 cucumber
1 small melon (Guadeloupe, Honeydew or Galia Melon)
2 kiwis
Preparation Time: approx. 15 minutes
Directions for the Melon-Lettuce Smoothie:
Wash the lettuce and cut or tear into pieces. Peel the cucumber and cut into small pieces. Next, cut the melon into quarters. Cut off the rind, remove the seeds and cut into small pieces as well. Finally, remove the skin from the kiwis and cut each kiwi into quarters. Put everything together in a blender and puree the fruits and veggies until it is thoroughly mixed and has a fairly liquid consistency.
If you don’t have a blender, use a hand blender to puree the cucumber, melon and kiwi one thing at a time. Use a food processor to get the lettuce to very finely chopped. (A food processor is also great for making pesto.) Often there is an extra attachment that comes with your hand blender that you could also use instead of a food processor. Then just mix all the ingredients together and just like that, your yummy green smoothie is ready to taste!
